The Paris Peace Accords, signed on January 27, 1973, ended U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. The agreement was officially titled the Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam and was signed by the United States, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and the Viet Cong.
While the accords led to the withdrawal of U.S. troops, fighting between North and South Vietnam continued. Eventually, in April 1975, North Vietnam captured Saigon, leading to the reunification of Vietnam under communist rule.
